The FSA 200 sets the benchmark for ergonomics

The STIHL FSA 200 battery brushcutter sets new standards for comfortable and ergonomic working for professionals. Available September 2024.

FSA 200: the new brushcutter at a glance

  • Clearing saw with high cutting performance for professional use
  • Suitable for noise-sensitive environments and maintenance of green areas on difficult terrain
  • Sophisticated carrying system and ergonomic control handles for optimal weight distribution
  • Professional anti-vibration system protects muscles while working
  • Air filter ensures optimum engine cooling and long service life

The STIHL FSA 200 battery brushcutter is now the most powerful brushcutter in STIHL's AP battery system. It is particularly suitable for mowing grass and shrubs in noise-sensitive environments and for care of green areas on difficult terrain.

Excellent cutting performance makes the FSA 200 ideal for professional use, for example in municipal and landscape maintenance operations, but also for domestic use in large gardens. It has a large, 45 cm mowing circle and is compatible with a wide range of STIHL cutting tools, enabling it to be optimally equipped for all types of application. The FSA 200 is IPX4 splashproof, meaning you can work flexibly even in the rain.

The FSA 200 has a powerful drive unit with electronically regulated brushless EC engine. High engine output and an optimally tuned performance curve enable users to make noticeably faster progress in their work. This is an important prerequisite for healthy, low-fatigue working.

Ergonomically designed for optimal weight distribution

Say goodbye to physical fatigue!

Working with a brushcutter for longer periods of time can often lead to problems of physical fatigue and back pain. Persistent strain can even result in long-term physical damage.

The FSA 200 carrying system optimally distributes the weight of the tool

The FSA 200 solution

The FSA 200 responds to this issue by means of a sophisticated carrying system with a hook-in belt strip, which absorbs and optimally distributes the weight of the clearing saw. Working fatigue is effectively reduced by means of ergonomically designed control handles which feature infinitely variable speed control and a fold-out handlebar adjustment screw. Two separate controls; individual controls for switching on the power tool and for selecting the power level facilitate simple use.

Effective reduction of vibrations

Fatigue problems

Working with conventional brushcutters and clearing saws can rapidly cause fatigued limbs, which then leads to reduced working precision. This not only impacts the cutting result, but can also affect work safety.

The FSA 200 solution

The FSA 200 features an anti-vibration system for professionals, which consists of buffer and spring elements coordinated for optimal interaction. The anti-vibration system reduces vibrations by decoupling the gripping points of the power tool from the drivetrain. In this way, the STIHL anti-vibration systems effectively minimise vibrations and ensure low-fatigue, muscle-friendly use – good conditions for safe and healthy working.

Low noise and emissions – thanks to battery power

Problems with noise

When it comes to professional landscapers, noise and emissions often impact the times of day at which they can complete their work. Many power tools operate at a sound level which is unpleasant for people in the surrounding area, and this significantly restricts working hours – especially in noise-sensitive areas such as near schools and nurseries. It also means that the user needs to wear ear protection. In addition the user is often inhaling potentially harmful gases, which are also damaging to the environment.

The FSA 200 solution

When compared to similar petrol-driven tools, the FSA 200 offers numerous battery advantages for professional use. For instance, the FSA 200 can be used without generating exhaust gases and unpleasant odours, which promotes healthy working and represents a clear benefit for the environment.

An easy-to-clean air filter also ensures optimal engine cooling and a long power tool service life. What’s more, the FSA 200 has a comparatively low working noise level, which means that it may even be possible to work without ear protection, depending on the cutting tool.

Security through smart connectivity

Injury problems

Without regular maintenance and care, power tools may not remain safe and functional in the long term. This can expose the user, as well as others nearby, to the risk of work injuries.

The FSA 200 solution

Utilising STIHL connected is one way the FSA 200 contributes to increased working safety. To access this function, the Smart Connector 2 A must be inserted and mounted at the designated position on the tool housing. Once installed it links to the device’s control unit and transmits valuable power tool data, such as information on maintenance and care. The STIHL connected data can be viewed via the STIHL connected App and the STIHL connected Portal, where it can be used to support optimum working safety at all times.
