FAQs on product registration

Your STIHL power tool will be registered in store by your local STIHL dealer at the time of purchase. 

You will find the serial number on a label on your power tool, or alternatively in the tool’s individual product user manual.

Select STIHL power tools are eligible for our 'Double your Warranty' promotion, which is designed for you to extend your tools warranty period by a further 2 years*.

You can extend your warranty period when you purchase a 1 Litre bottle of STIHL HP Ultra Two Stroke oil or 4 litres of MotoMix. The product and lubricant must be purchased at the same time as the tool and is only available on eligible products.

The STIHL Standard 'Double Your Warranty' offer is valid on homeowner and landowner petrol powered products (as listed below) only in non-income or commercial producing applications. Battery and electric powered products do not qualify.

Once the Dealer has registered your product, you should receive an email confirmation from STIHL Australia.  

To make use of the extended warranty, please keep your invoice as well as the confirmation of product registration (email), and show these to your local STIHL Dealer.
